My veterinary interests are preventive care, behavior and small mammal medicine (critters like rabbits and hamsters). I currently have 3 cats (Johnny, Hey and Simba) and 1 dog (Zoey). Simba can often be found helping Jessica behind the reception desk at the clinic in the afternoon. My non-veterinary interests include sewing, reading, & gardening. I assisted in starting up New Life Pet Adoption Center, and still spend quite a few hours volunteering there.
Veterinarian
Dr. Jessica
Dr. Jessica grew up in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin and always had a close affinity with animals. She did a pro and con list and “presentation” to convince her parents to let her get a cat at the age of 10, followed by a family dog at the age of 12. After finishing high school she studied Biology at UW-River Falls. Pursuing her dreams and lifelong romance she traveled to Scotland for veterinary school at the Royal (Dick) school of Veterinary Studies - University of Edinburgh. She married her husband Michael and graduated 1 week later in 2013. After moving back to the USA she practiced at a small animal clinic in central Wisconsin for a year before returning back to her roots in Manitowoc and continuing to practice small animal medicine.
Wanting to get back to the reasons why she loved the idea of being a veterinarian since childhood, she moved her husband and 3 cats (Pickles, Tater & Chandler Bing)
up to Wausau Wisconsin to join the team at Wausau Animal Hospital. She loves seeing pocket pet exotic animals and helping owners with nutrition and weight loss. Outside of work she loves beach-combing, hiking, kayaking, and crafting. She
participates in walking challenges for the American Cancer Society and loves Relay for Life.
